We’ve devoted our lives to advancing medicine and renewable energy to make a positive impact on society. However, through our work we’ve come to learn that the ways in which science is conducted results in an immense environmental footprint that harms the very people it's meant to serve. For instance, US healthcare emissions lead to health damages every year comparable in magnitude to those experienced in New York City during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. How could we continue working towards a healthy, sustainable future if we were contributing to the very problems we're trying to solve? We started Sustainabli to create a scientific ecosystem that operates without harming the planet—where sustainable practices are not only accessible but become the standard for the field.
